Looking for car transport from Preston? WS Logistics is based in Hambleton, Poulton-le-Fylde, about half an hour from Preston along the M55. It’s not all about the big flash electric cars. I collected this little Citroën Ami from a Citroën dealership in Preston and took it across the Pennines to another Citroën dealership in Keighley, West Yorkshire.
The Ami is a tiny two-seat electric car, and it’s an odd one to move. The driver’s door is hinged at the back, so it opens the opposite way to a normal car, and it’s so narrow between the wheels that it only just sat right on the trailer. It’s a job I won’t forget in a hurry.
Dealer to dealer transfers like this are a big part of what I do. Preston has plenty of main dealers, and moving stock between sites, out to customers or across the country is all in a day’s work.
Not every collection is a shiny car ready for its new owner. A main dealer in Preston asked me to move this pre-registered SEAT Ibiza to Liverpool for repair.
Thieves had taken the doors and the driver’s seat, and it looked as if the parts had been stolen to order. They clearly knew what they were doing: the connections had been neatly unplugged and the original bolts were even left behind. Sadly, even pre-registered cars sitting on a forecourt aren’t safe.
It’s a good example of why dealers want someone they can trust moving their stock. The Ibiza was strapped down securely and taken straight to Liverpool so the repair could get started.
